If you need medical help fast and you are not in a life threatening situation please call the new NHS 111 Service.
The easy to remember, free to call number (mobiles and landlines) is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the service is available for people who aren't sure if they need to go to A&E, don't have a GP or generally need reassurance and advice.
GP Care Wakefield : GP Extended Hours Service
Greater access to medical support. Appointments for medical support are now available on:
Weekdays 6pm - 10pm
Weekends and bank holidays 9am - 3pm
To get help, just call the GP surgery during these times and you will be diverted to the service.
*Practice Extended Opening Hours Monday 6:30pm to 8:30pm *
The surgery will be open for extended hours every Monday evening providing prebookable appointments to patients.

From the 1st December 2014 all GP practices are required to ask patients to complete the the Friends & Family test.

Risk profiling: how your NHS records are used
This practice is taking part in a new NHS service that helps your family doctor (GP) to spot whetheryou need more help to manage your health. The service is called “risk profiling”.
Using information from your health records, a secure NHS computer system will look at any recent treatments you have had in hospital or at this surgery, and any existing health conditions that you have, and alert your doctor to the likelihood of a possible future hospital admission. The clinical Risk Stratification in General Practice team at the surgery will use the information to help you get early care and treatment where it is needed.
The information will be seen only by qualified health workers involved in your care. NHS security systems will protect your health information and patient confidentiality at all times.
If you don’t want your information being used in this way, or have any other concerns, please contact the surgery on 01924 220256 and explain your preference to any of the reception team.
